Beeches is located in the village of Shirwell just a short drive from Barnstaple. With plenty of parking for parents and carers to deliver and collect their children. We also offer a School delivery and collection service. If you are unable to drive, we can discuss a 'door to door collection service'

Beeches Childcare outing to Blakewell Fisheries, Muddiford Nr Barnstaple. 'We all caught a lovely fish, infact we were such good fishermen we filled the bucket and took them home and shared them for our tea'

We enjoy being outside what ever the weather. Mark making should not just be on paper.

We enjoy the private garden at Beeches to learn and explore with our friends. Beeches have tame Ducks, Chickens, Rabbits and a family dog. We love to feed and help look after them.

On nice sunny days we have picnics or lunch in the garden. We like to explore with water, sand and soil and enjoy growing our own vegetables.

Playing and learning together and NOT having separate rooms for different ages, helps us develop our 'sharing and caring skills' Very strong bonds and friendships develop with each other and the ladies who care for us. With a WORKING RATIO OF 1 : 3 Children at Beeches thrive in our home based learning environment.

We care for children from 2 months and can offer 'family care packages' for siblings. Here at Beeches we value the relationship between family home and setting. We actively support both parents and children. We all highly respect your family privacy .

Regular termly visits to Rosemoor Gardens. We always come prepared for rain or shine and keep safe with all our friends.

Another wonderful adventure, with the 'King of the woods' at Rosemoor gardens, Torrington .

Opening Times -

We are open:

Tuesday to Friday 7.00 / 7.15am to 6.00pm daily

Beeches offers care for 47 weeks of the year.

Our Annual Holidays will be advised at the beginning of the year.

We are open during Term times and most School holidays

We are closed:

Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day

and all Bank Holidays

Childcare Services available: 

Your family's needs are unique and here at Beeches we prefer to offer you a 'Family Package of Care' this could include...

  • Part Time Care
  • Full Time care
  • 2 Year Funded Sessions (15hrs per week)
  • Early Years Funded Sessions for 3 & 4 year olds.
( 30 Hrs * Stretched Offer to cover 47 weeks over the year)

  • Before School including breakfast and personal delivery to School.

  • After School collection and care.
  • School Holiday Care

  • Emergency Care

 This is subject to available space and meeting the needs of both the child and the family concerned.

DIRECTIONS:

We are just a short drive... at the most around 5 min's.

Leaving Barnstaple past through the new roundabout at the the North Devon District Hospital take the A39 Shirwell Road and continue on up through Burridge. 

When you drive through the village of Shirwell 'Beeches Childcare' can be found on your right hand side. 

We are set back in a large layby with our Beeches Buses parked outside.

We have our own private parking outside for parents and carers to deliver and collect.
